| | A high end client of ours is looking for a DevOps Engineer:
Key responsibilities of DevOps Engineer include:
You will collaborate with IT Ops, engineering, and product management, to design and improve automation and tools for systems management, including development of scripts and building tools to help engineering service owners and fellow SREs maintain the internal infrastructure.
Dig deep into hardware, driver, Linux kernel, and the full software stack issues to troubleshoot problems and improve system performance.
Lead efforts to evaluate new tools and technologies for the data center. Integrate evaluation findings into the operational stack.
Define the requirements for online ticketing and other ITSM system.
Leverage your technical experience to mentor and coach team members. Must be an
excellent verbal and written communicator.
May perform periodic on-call duty as part of a team maintaining the availability and
performance of the internal infrastructure.
Candidate Background
7+ years of demonstrated proficiency in architecting large scale solutions using infrastructure automation techniques on public and hybrid cloud services: AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMWare (vCloud Suite), Google Cloud. A hands-on experience with building large scale Linux production environments is a must-have.
Deep grounding in build/deploy and CI/CD (continuous integration and delivery) processes, with significant hands-on experience with DevOps agility. In particular, applying DevOps agility to ERP/CRM class enterprise application management is a strong plus.
Data center infrastructure (on-premise and Cloud) understanding of bare metal and virtualized compute, SAN storage, SDS, networking and SDN. Deep understanding of hyper-converged infrastructure is a strong plus.
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Technology Expertise:
o Administration experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
o Virtualization technologies, in particular VMware product suite (vCenter, ESXi, vRealize) is required. Deep understanding of KVM, Microsoft technologies (Hyper-V, Azure Pack, Azure Stack) is a strong plus.
o Experience with cloud management platforms such as OpenStack/CloudStack and
orchestration tools such as Kubernetes/Mesos a big plus.
o Proficiency in one of Python, Perl, or Ruby for operations scripts and text processing
(Python strongly preferred) as well as automation tools like Ansible, Chef and Puppet.
o Proficiency in monitoring tools like Nagios, cacti or other tools.
o Expert in configuration and maintenance of different NAS/SAN systems in virtualized
environment.
o Experience provisioning bare-metal servers using IPMI, ILO and iDRAC.
o Understanding of DevOps agility for continuous development and delivery is a strong plus. Deep understanding of ITIL processes and systems, such ITSM (ServiceNow) is a strong plus.
o Experience with big data systems (Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL, Cassandra) is a plus.
