Brief JD:
| We are looking to fill a need to have a highly competent and highly motivated individual to lead a team of Oracle/SQL DBA team members who are working on a 24/7 rotation in supporting cloud databases for globally dispersed clients in multiple verticals. This role requires at least 7-9 years enterprise-level DBA experience. We are looking for a DBA Manager with a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned. Must be a TEAM PLAYER!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Primarily senior production Database Administration role with occasional development duties
2. Owning, tracking and resolving database and operating system related incidents and requests
3. Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs
4. Must be able to lead all database related tasks for cloud based clients.
5. Reviewing service related reports (E.g.: database backups, maintenance, monitoring, patching) on a periodic basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs
6. Responding to database and operating systems related alerts and escalations
7. Collaborate with responsible parties to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems
8. Focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with established SLAs
9. Establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests
10. Initiating and performing changes on production systems in accordance with Change Management policies and procedures.
11. Proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
12. Periodic weekly on-call rotation with other DBA team member(s).
13. Nights and Weekend duties maybe required outside the normal workday.

| QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
1. Experience growing and leading a COE team providing Oracle and MSSQL Server Database Administration
2. Experience with advanced Oracle features to include Oracle RAC, Data Guard implementation and maintenance, ASM, Oracle Enterprise Manager.
3. Experience with advanced SQL Server features SSRS, SSIS, SSAS including table partitioning.
4. Experience with ERP database support E.g. SAP or PeopleSoft
5. Experience with Oracle and\or SQL Server VLDB environments. E.g. 5TB and larger.
6. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems and related issues.
7. Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
8. Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems in a Virtual Environment
9. Experience with VMWare VCenter
10. Experience with backups, restores and recovery models using RMAN
11. Experience in managing internal and external database security
12. Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle/MSSQL Server.
13. Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
14. Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics
15. Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and other Microsoft products
16. Exposure to NoSQL databases E.g. Hadoop Mongo
17. Good communication and documentation skills
18. Active in forums or newsgroups for Oracle and MSSQL and Operating Systems
19. Certification is a plus; MCTS, MCITP, MVP, MCSE, Oracle Database Administrator
20. Experience with Linux RedHat, Centos, Open BSD, Oracle, MySQL a plus |
