| Dear Job, Centurylink-Bangalore drive on 19 March'15 openings for Associate Lead-Oracle DBA(Jobcode=CL0069) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, Greetings from Cosmic Consultants, Century Link is conducting scheduled interviews Position :Associate Lead-Oracle DBA Location:Bangalore Experience : 6-10 yrs JOB DESCRIPTION: Description: The Associate Lead DBA will be part of the Global operations Centre Database Engineering team, which is responsible for all the aspects of database architecture, administration and data modeling, code changes on production environments. Day to day operation involves Crisis Management/P1 escalations, Customer onboarding, change management approvals, metrics reporting for the DBA team. The responsibilities include design and maintenance of database infrastructure and customer environments as part of a managed hosting solution. Daily responsibilities include providing top level escalation support for CenturyLink Hosting Operations Engineers and CenturyLink hosting/Platinum support customers in their Oracle and MySQL DB Environment. He or she will also be responsible for installation, implementing High availability database environments, trouble tickets and troubleshooting of highly critical production environment with 99.99% uptime. He or she will also be involved in database performance tuning, implementing backup solutions and capacity planning. This person will work closely with other DBAs in a global team as well as application, systems operations and engineering teams and will be working in majority with Oracle 11g/10g RAC/DG and MySQL 4.x, 5.x databases on Linux/Solaris/Windows. Position Requirements: • Strong in Oracle and MySQL technology and guide team members for complex issues. • Working closely with other team leads and their technical teams to ensure delivery of database services within the performance targets set. • Defining and implementing consistent standards across systems. • Defining database configuration standards related to performance and sizing for both transactional and data warehouse databases. • Mentoring and knowledge transfer to other DBAs, and participate in complex and/or time critical troubleshooting. • Lead on projects. Required skills: • Maintain 99.99% availability for all CenturyLink Hosting products and infrastructure and make sure all the DB related SLAs are met for uptime and support.. • Pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues. • Regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements. • Point of escalation for DBA team. • Provide Hosting Professional Services for customers with requirements that go beyond the normal scope of work. • Active role in establishment of process / procedure and their improvements for higher efficiency. • Standardization and Documentation. • Always looking for improving quality of service and introducing the new technology. Doing PoCs and determining /recommending the feasibility to CenturyLink environment. • Technical interface between the DBAs and customer and perform RCA. • Setting up and maintaining Dataguard on 11g with MAA. • Experience with setting up and managing ASM instances. • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Tuning and using AWR/ADDM. • Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures • Strong knowledge of SQL/SQL*Plus and understanding of PL/SQL and stored procedures/packages. Familiarity with Oracle's supplied PL/SQL packages such as dbms_stats, dbms_job, etc. • Strong Knowledge of Database Backup and recovery using RMAN and logical backups - exp/imp/expdp/impdp. Other Desired skills: • Good knowledge of MySQL environment. and concepts in versions 4.x, 5.x • Development background • 1+ years of experience in setting up the high availability and MySQL clustering in v5.x. and MySQL replication • VERITAS HA Cluster Servers • Basic Red Hat/Linux or Solaris Administration and Windows Sys.
