Lead / Principal Member of Technical Core Engineering- Java Full Stack 

At Core engineering team in Salesforce, we work on solving the hard, long term engineering problems in our software foundation that underlies all of our products. Focus is on building powerful and simple to use frameworks, services and software components that will be used by our products to deliver value to our end customers.
Core engineering team in Hyderabad Center of Excellence focuses on modern MicroServices at Scale, with complete ownership of services - spec, design, deploy and run in production at scale supporting customers globally. We are looking for passionate engineers who love working on distributed systems and own large scale services in production to join our team at Hyderabad.
 
As a Principal Member of Technical Staff in Core Engineering Cloud (Hyderabad), you will be architecting one/more of our services (in areas such as caching, scheduling, noSql) to work at Salesforce scale and breadth. Your responsibilities include


    * Architect and evolve service for features, scale, HA, manageability and other key aspects of modern at-scale services.
    * Evaluate multiple technologies and options available, use your judgement to figure out what is best for the service(s)
    * Own service in production and be the subject matter expert
    * Be technically hands-on, independently design and deliver code for features of large complexity
    * Work with senior members across other clouds and influence architecture, quality strategy, product and processes
    * Positively impact other members, including not under direct area of ownership with informal coaching and mentoring
    * Build upon open source wherever appropriate and contribute back to the community
    * Be a key player in architectural initiatives, roadmap and technology direction balancing long-term platform velocity with short-term customer needs

Experience/Skills required

    * Proven experience as an owner / key team member of large scale distributed systems for high volume workloads
    * A strong adherent to software engineering best practices which enable building world class products such as unit testing, modular code, right abstractions, continuous integration mindset etc
    * Strong data structure and algorithms skills and extensive programming experience, preferably in Java/c#
    * Strong communication skills with ability to articulate key points and work seamlessly across teams
    * Quick, independent learner who loves a fast-paced environment
    * Experience in working closely with cross-functional teams across geographies
    * Experience working in scrum/agile development environment. Agile mindset, ability to iterate, take risks and evolve
    * B.S+. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
