One of our leading MNC is looking for BI Architect for Chennai operations Experience : 10-14 Years Location : Chennai Job Description : BI Architect should have 10+ years of experience in architecting, managing BI project and should have implemented the complete data warehouse solution to clients. Master degree preferred with knowledge of following tools Database: Netezza, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and/or other RDBMS. ETL Tools: Informatica, Talend, Data stage, SSIS and/or other ETL tools. Reporting Tools: Cognos, Microstrategy, Tableau and/or other reporting tools. The BI architect determines the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source system platforms and moving it to the BI. This involves understanding all of the source system platforms, application architectures and other OLTP systems. The person in this role designs and implements the infrastructure used by ETL/ Report specialists on specific projects. The architect provides input to the ETL development and report development team through technical specification documents which includes the source the target mapping and report specification documents. Architect assists and coaches other developers/specialists during the course of their individual projects and helps them understand the skills they have to acquire. He/she should oversee the implementation of the solution and be capable of teaching â€" the BI methodology and techniques, the functional aspect of data modeling, technical implementation plan and validating the deliverables. Job responsibilities : * Determine the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source system platforms and moving it to the BI. * Implement the ETL infrastructure used at a project level. * Establish and enforce technical standards for deliverables of projects. * Coach project ETL team and report team on data acquisition techniques, decision rules and how to apply them. * Estimate costs for technical components and architectural design. * Develop ETL technical architecture. * Evaluate and select ETL tool for customer needs. * Develop access/analysis tool technical architecture. * Evaluate and select access/analysis tools. * Interface with all the other stakeholders. * Define the KPI, metrics and measures for the problem area of the customer. * Understand the user requirement in various business functions/department and document the needs. * Develop and manage the BI road map, work schedule and implementation plan. * Awareness of all types of disaster recovery strategy, backup and recovery strategy, archival strategy. * Continued knowledge on emerging BI technologies.
