Responsibilities
• Manage a team of test engineers involved in manual and automation testing of software.
• Be responsible for hiring, mentoring and managing a highly skilled set of software test engineers. Thoughtfully managing them to deliver and fostering an environment of growth.
• Own a team of very talented V&V technical leads and testers to drive the delivery roadmaps.
• Contribute to the strategy for test automation framework evolution to handle the different levels of testing.
• Provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
• Act as a coach for the team members, both at a technical and behavioral level.
• Works collaboratively with project manager and partners to create resourcing and execution plans including any hand-offs, regularly tracks team progress against objectives, identify and manage organizational risks to ensure successful accomplishment of objectives.
• Oversee the testing for multiple software releases through effective prioritization and resource management.
• Develop solid understanding of Danaher Business System tools and apply to day-to-day work.
• Ensure compliance to organizational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Desired Characteristics

Qualifications - External
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field
• 12+ years of experience in the software industry with at least 5+ years in testing and with proven prior experience in a software V&V team leadership/management role.
• Work related experience of 2+ years in the management of staff numbering in excess of 10 persons - hiring, objective setting, performance evaluation, compensation, coachingand mentoring is desirable
• Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees.
• History of teamwork and willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
• Multidisciplinary experience overseeing Testing and Program/Project Management.
• Understanding of software development processes for a regulated environment (ISO9000/FDA).
• Experience in Agile development processes and philosophies.
• Proven results oriented person with a timely delivery and quality focus.
• Proven prior experience in software testing including the application of test processes throughout the software development life cycle.
• Proven experience in building and developing a test team with ability to manage team through influence and leadership skills.
• Experience in developing and deploying test automation framework using off-the-shelf tools
• Experience in Agile development processes and philosophies.
• Management of defects and changes using change management systems preferably TFS.
• Experience with Windows environments
• Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is a way of life.
• Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction.
• Passionate about team advocacy and fostering a healthy environment of productivity.
• ISTQB foundation certification or equivalent is a plus
• Experience in medical device verification is a plus.
• Ability to travel as needed (minimal).
