Mode of Placement: Permanent.
Skills:
* 9+ years of hands on MS SQL Server (2005/2008/2012) database administration
* Strong shell scripting and SQL scripting expertise for routine task automation.
* Knowledge of the extract, transform, load, and end user access tools.
* Experience with commercial backup software (Net Backup preferred).
* SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS experience is a plus * Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced and often changing environment
* Experience with database capacity planning to ensure that data growth and loads are not exceeding expectations.
* Experience using and administering 3rd party MySQL monitoring tools. Idera and Solarwinds is a plus.
* Experience developing and implementing automated data purging and archiving strategies
* Experience with MS SQL Server partitioning and HA solutions are desired. * Excellent documentation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills * Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate among
geographically diversified cross-functional teams to provide solutions.
* Demonstrate personal initiative, conscientious with follow-through, decisive with sound judgment
* B.S. in Computer Science or other technical degree or equivalent work experience required.
* If desired, additional opportunities available to expand job responsibilities into MySQL
Responsibilities:
* 24x7 Primary support of SQL Server environments supporting multiple client and product platforms. 500+ database servers mainly running 2012.
* Ensure database availability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
* Perform core database management tasks including software installation, database creation and configuration, database upgrades, schema changes, replication setup, backup and recovery.
* Support external and internal users providing guidance on database related inquiries and troubleshoot connectivity, replication, query/job tuning, and other issues.
* Participate in database projects and work with partners to bring projects to successful and timely completion.
* Strong design, development, and administration skills * Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies and products
