	Job Description
	Seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded Manager with technical capabilities of leading team of Oracle Database Administrators as well as functioning in a technical capacity as a highly competent Oracle Database Administrator. Candidate is expected to be familiar with database architecture, logical and physical design, automation, documentation, installs, shell scripting, PL/SQL programming, backup & recovery concepts, and database performance and tuning. Candidate must have excellent analytical, verbal , and written skills.   Duties and responsibilities Oversees database administration functions assigning tasks and scheduling work Develops and implements business plans, policies, and procedures. Oversees subordinates performing database maintenance and enhancements. Collaborates with technological and other departments to prioritize database needs. Evaluates results within business unit to determine if organizational objectives are being met. Analyzes and resolves database administration issues and needs. Performs hiring, firing, objective setting, performance appraisals, coaching and reviews of subordinates. Required to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and be available to perform periodic after-hours support. 	Desired Candidate Profile
	Education:   (UG - Any Graduate - Any Specialization) OR (PG - Post Graduation Not Required) AND (Doctorate - Any Doctorate - Any Specialization, Doctorate Not Required) Minimum qualifications 4 year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology required (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 8 years of experience working with Oracle database systems in a Linux/Unix environment is required. Previous leadership experience required. Must have experience in 11g and be familiar with 12c new features and upgrade methodology.   Must have at least 2 years experience in each the following: o Hands-on technical management experience of DBA team o RMAN o Data Guard o ASM o Oracle RAC in 11g or above o Linux shell scripting (preferable ksh or bsh) o OLTP Database Support o Oracle Partitioning o PL/SQL programming (Oracle packages, procedures or anonymous PL/SQL) Must be familiar with RAC services and how to manage & configure them in a highly available environment. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment to meet common goals. Must be capable of analyzing SQL statements and assisting developers with tips on how to improve performance. Must be familiar with reviewing AWR/ASH reports and have working knowledge of wait events.   Preferred qualifications Preference given to individuals with the following: o Database support in .NET environment o Oracle Certified Professional for 11g or above o Oracle 12c experience o Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager o Erwin or comparable data modeling tool experience o Experience with Oracle ASO/TDE o Exadata DB Machine experience
