· Experience with very high transaction databases.
· Knowledge and experience with Unix systems.
· Knowledge and experience with OEM/Grid Control.
· Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly.
· Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Job Title: SQL DBA
Exp: 5 to 12 years
Roles and responsibilities:-
Database Administration in Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2005/2000 and providing production support for 24X7 high availability environments.
* Database Mirroring, Partitioning, Replication, and Log Shipping in MS SQL Server.2005/2008 Server installation & Migration
* Performance Monitoring and tuning of OLTP/OLAP database server and databases in MS SQL Server 2005/2008.
* Performance Monitoring using tools such as Quest Performance Analyzer, Quest Spotlight, Litespeed, and others.
* Troubleshooting and Performance tuning of slow running Queries.
* Patching.
* DR test.
* Cluster Administration.
* Backup/restore.
* Creation/modification of logins.
* Backup restore tests on a weekly basis.
* Handling of space issues.
* Checking for instance availability
* Creation/handling of SQL jobs
