Position: Senior Technical Specialist - TFS
Job Description
Role
* Administration,Customization and Support of Microsoft Team foundations (TFS) from Portfolio mgmt. ,Requirements, Configuration, Defect, Test Mgt
* Architect and maintain infrastructure including (continuous) integration, automated builds, and automated build verification testing.
* Migration of Data to TFS from Clearcase, SVN etc
* Develop and maintain build tools and scripts and make them generic for multiple projects.
* Create platforms and environments for system demonstration, testing, etc.
* Create systems, utilities, and scripts to automate deployment
* Facilitate the technical aspects of collaboration with third parties, such as data or service providers, hosting facilities, etc.
* Create and maintain a repository that contains the configuration items, which are put under configuration management (source code management, defect management, requirements and test management, document management system, sharepoint / drop zone)
* Create and maintain user accounts, permissions, projects
* Evaluate and validate (coordinate validation) new SW tools and upgrades used in product development.
* Troubleshoot tool problems and provide advice on tool installation and integration (in collaboration with IT/TA).
* Tool knowledge & Integration of one or more of the SDLC tools set excluding configuration Management is must.
* Migration of Data to TFS from Clearcase, SVN etc
Responsibility & Key Areas of Responsibility
* Understand the existing Workflow in the business and help them to migrate to TFS.
* Manage/Adminster the TFS Setup
* Manage and maintain the workflows in TFS.
* Define and Manage the Build setup for business and ensure daily builds are delivered
* Work with Architects to come up with the branching and Merging strategy and maintain the SCMP.
* Creation of make file and its control during the project life cycle. Setup build environment, Test Environment & automate as per Project need. Need handle in create Build Engine, Build Orchastration using TFS
* Conflict detection and resolution with the help of Architects if required.
* To support multi site operations for the project if needed.
* To automate and script most of the regular activities of the Configuration Engineer.
* To do status accounting for the project.Support Project Releases
* To participate in Configuration audits for the projects as planned.
* To install, configure the Defect Management Software if deployed locally.
* Support day to day activities on the defect Management Tool
* To install, Configure and support the Requirements Management tool .
* Ensure SDE Tool Validation on the new SDE Environment for the supported tools.
* Good working knowledge on one of the tool in SDLC and also working knowledge of Application life cycle management (ALM).
Operations Experience
* Experience of handling Configuration activities for varied projects with multi-site operations too.
Know -how
* Knowledge of and understands the needs of the end customer.
* Awareness of the roadmaps and the way that group would contribute towards the roadmap.
* Awareness of the SDE competencies required to deliver current and future projects.
* Basic Knowledge of system administration and how the server works.
* Good Knowledge of programming skills for writing Apps.
Skill set
* Should have hands on Working knowledge of atleast 5 years + on TFS. Administration and Customization
* Should have defined the workflows and have a thorough knowledge on the Software Development Life Cycle.
* Should know scripting language like C# , Perl.
* Knowledge on Windows Environment, IOS, Linux
* * Should have working knowledge of atleast 5 years on Continuus Integration Process and tools on TFS, Jenkins, Cruise Control.
* Knowledge of usage configuration management tool like SVN/Clearcase would be an added advantage.
* Experience in Microsoft Build Tools like Nant
* Branching, Labelling, Merging,
* Basic PERL/.net Vb/C# programming.
* Software Development process.
* Software Development Life Cycle.
* Application Life cycle management
