Required Skills Major Skill sets: Maintain MS SQL Server databases in DEV, Integration, UAT, Production Support 24 X 7. Tune and optimize database performance. Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends. Perform problem determination (root cause analysis), and document the source and proposed resolution. Perform architectural reviews and code reviews Finding DMV queries to answer questions about server-level performance Strong skills in Administration, installing SQL Server 2005 / 2008 / 2008 R2 / 2012, Maintaining MS SQL Cluster (Active/Passive & Active/Active) Plan & execute of any upgrade such as Service Pack, Hot fixes etc. in Production environment. Fine Tuning Databases System in-coordination with Application Servers / teams. Tuning T-SQL queries to improve performance Designing tables and picking datatypes Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors/clients.
