Requirements:
* 8 to 15 years supporting Microsoft SQL Server in a Production Environment with some experience as Sybase DBA
* Excellent incident solving, analytical and critical thinking skills - must be able to work with peers and customers to resolve issues
* Must have experience in Replication, mirroring, Triggering, log shipping, Disaster Recovery , High Availability, Automation Scripting, Clustering
* Continuous improvement focus to continually review clients' database environments with a standing goal of improving upon existing operations
* Possess a good technical background with an ability to effectively interface with cross-functional teams (server administrators, storage administrators, client application developers, etc)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills - must be comfortable communicating with technical peers and customers
* Personal commitment to stay current with latest technology concepts
* A customer service attitude is essential
* Team player attitude is critical
* Excellent functional understanding and familiarity with database monitoring and capacity management
* Excellent functional understanding of Microsoft Windows Server technology
* Ready to work on night shift starting from 6 PM to 3 AM IST from Monday to Friday and sometime need to support on Weekend for change activities.
Responsibilities:
* The position is a Database Support Level 3 (DBA).
* It is an Intermediate level role requiring moderate skills with a high level of proficiency.
* Position responsibilities include all aspects of database management and support in a dynamic production environment tracking to customer service level agreements.
* This team is responsible for the systems support and management of customer application database environments.
* This position must be capable of working independently with only administrative supervision, displaying independent judgment with the ability to overcome moderate obstacles and recognize early when issues should be escalated or a senior peer needs to be consulted.
* They will consult with senior peers on projects with the goal of continually building knowledge/experience while minimizing any risk to projects.
* They provide communication on issues or complex information to a wide audience, consulting with management or senior peers when necessary.
* They will contribute to the development, documentation and implementation of database standards or guidelines.
* Key areas of service delivery include managing the environment for high availability and performance requiring precise execution of systems installations, upgrades, on-going administration and incident resolution.
Candidates should have experience in sql(L3/L4) AND Oracle, sybase(l2).
