Job Description
As a VMware Sr. QE Manager, you will work closely and collaborate with your peer group in Development, Product Management, Program Management and QE to co-ordinate the smooth integration of product features and discuss ''''hot issues. You will also work with Quality Engineers at a conceptual and code level to create practical solutions for product testing and engineering efficiency. You will be responsible for actively monitoring problems via a defect tracking system and measure progress against time lines, taking action if needed. This is an opportunity to work with exciting, industry-leading virtualization products and grow your own leadership and technical skills as part of a strong leadership team.
You will manage a team of engineers designing and automating tests for VMware Ecosystem and Solution Engineering (EASE) team. Provide world-class leadership for a QE team of up to ten engineers. Ensure on-time delivery of project and release deliverables. Oversee all automation efforts within the team. Develop team members in terms of both technical and leadership excellence.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Strong project management skills; Familiarity of project management processes, test reporting, bug analysis and code coverage tools
* Assure early engagement with development and product management to assure that new features and functions are delivered to QE at high quality levels for production level testing.
* 5+ years experience as a Development or QE Manager responsible for delivering a Enterprise software product
* 3+ programming experience in Java or any other Object-oriented language
* 2+ experience in scalability/performance testing
* Proficiency in one or more of the following skills: Selenium, Flex, SWTBot, JUNIT, TestNG
* Experience in White box API testing, developing test frameworks and tools
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
* Experience with multiple VMware products is a strong plus
