Job details overview
MS SQL Server DBA role largely responsible for providing operational database services
Primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related events, incidents and Change requests, fulfilling requests and resolving within SLAs.
Focus on maintaining communication with next level to keep them updated with status of their requests, and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
Should have experience on Administration of SQL server 2005/2008
Administration includes Hands on experience on
· Health check and monitoring
· Backups, restores and recovery models
· SQL server security
· Troubleshooting and resolving/escalating SQL server and database related issues
· DB and Disk space management (capacity management)
· Trouble shooting job failures
· Analyzing SQL error log and event viewer
Should have Knowledge on
· indexes, index management, and statistics
· Configuration on Maintenance plan
· Refresh activities
