We have an opportunity for 'Tech Lead' with CMMI Level-5 Company, Bangalore location.

Job Description/Job Responsibilities:
Experience: 5-15 Yrs

Notice Period: Immediate Joiners (Max 30 days)

JD:

Responsibilities
* Monitor database performance and analyze issues, primarily with Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, and 2012
* Manage multiple production database servers including (active-active) clustered installations in multiple data centers
* Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation, and availability for non-standard work hours as needed to support production environment, as well as company projects and initiatives
* Participate in logical and physical schema designs
* Maintain and enforce data modeling standards
* Review data access methods within applications
* Assist developers with SQL coding and tuning
* Enforce data integrity
* SQL Server Integration Services package deployments and configuration
* Create, manage and monitor SQL Agent jobs and schedules
* Regular and timely communication of status of projects and issues to management team
* Other duties as assigned

Shifts Timings:

Normal (Every Week) On-Call (additional, every 3rd week)
Mon - Fri 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM CST (flex for special assignments) 1:00 AM - 7:00 AM CST
Sat - Sun None 12:00 AM - 11:59PM CST


"flex for special assignments" means that, periodically, they have "inventory releases" and other ad-hoc activities which are not easily forecasted (but should be somewhat planned) which will need to occur at ~2:00AM CST. These activities will average about 3-5x/month.

They would like the person's schedule to be flexible enough so that when support for these activities are needed, an agreement would be made such that the person would start later than 5:00 PM CST, but would need to work until the task is completed (probably usually around 3:00-4:00 AM CST); the start time could be adjusted accordingly on those days...otherwise, the standard schedule would be 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM CST.

During on call weeks, in addition to the "normal" work schedule, the person would be available (meaning response expected within 1 hr) between 1:00 AM - 7:00AM CST, on Mon - Fri, and 24 hr availability on Sat & Sun. During the "on call" period, the person is not expected to be full-time, in-office fully engaged, but rather in an "on-demand" / "as-needed" readiness basis...during the on-call period (outside of their normal work hours), IF they are notified of an issue or need, then they should respond within an hour...otherwise, they may be at home or otherwise engaged, as long as they can be reached easily via mobile or e-mail.
