We are seeking to add to our technical team:

My SQL Database Administrator

Responsible for administering enterprise databases as well as participating in the development and maintenance of scaling, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans as they pertain to enterprise database systems

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensure overall integrity of enterprise transactional MySQL and MSSQL databases

Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop roadmap for data management and scaling plans.

Implement business continuity and scaling strategies based on roadmap.

Manage day to day operations of clustered database systems.

Set up new database servers and configure/tune existing database for environment specific optimization (high read, high write, random seek, etc*)

Perform data migration tasks, manage ETL operations (scrubbing, de-duplication, etc*)

Perform regular maintenance as necessary to maintain peak performance (e.g. rebuild indices, optimize paging, etc*)

Work with software developers to understand data use case and devise most efficient schema to meet performance and business needs

Review and deploy schema changes across all non development stages

Manage the regular flow of data from production back to staging environments

Regularly analyze logs for performance enhancements (slow queries, errors, etc*)

Maintain schema documentation (e.g. written, UML, etc*)

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum two (2) years administering ACID compliant multi-gigabyte MSSQL Server 2000/2005 or MySQL 4.X/5.X deployment

Bachelor*s degree in a computer related discipline or an additional two years or relevant experience.

Candidates with experience in both MSSQL and MySQL strongly preferred.

Experience working in a mission critical 24x7 environment w/ strict response and uptime SLA's (e.g. four nines, etc*)

Comfortable in both Windows and Linux environment

Demonstrated understanding of database needs for web and ERP systems

High availability as needed to support production systems, and willing to participate in 24x7 on call schedule

Strong work ethic, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a professional attitude
