Job Description:
Able to create, drive and complete POCs (Proof of Concepts) to test new ideas and apply emerging technologies
Achieve application architecture objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production and quality standards; resolving problems; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
Desire to expand knowledge and experience and commitment to continuous learning
Business acumen to determine feasibility of customer requests and balance business decisions with technology development
Customer oriented: meets individual commitments, works with the team to achieve team commitments, and responds to requests in a timely manner, willing to help
Supervisory, coaching and teaching skills to lead and/or supervise direct reports
Fluent and current on architecture trends with an eye on market/technical conditions and future direction
Confirms architecture capability and flexibility to support high availability web applications by developing analytical models; completing validation tests.
Required experience / knowledge:
Designing, documenting, and developing enterprise applications leveraging the full spectrum of Java technologies and design patterns
Defining the scale and scope of projects including logical and physical landscape requirements, and the design, development, and deployment efforts
Demonstrated ability for technological strategic planning
Minimum 13 years of relevant work experience in application designing and development
Experience with developing/implementing web applications built on J2EE technologies
Experience with implementing applications with SOA and/of MVC architectures
Experience with designing and developing one the Java frameworks: Spring, Hibernate
Experience developing and implementing Java applications on 1 or more Java application servers (e.g. JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic, Websphere)
Experience with Databases and having good knowledge of database competencies
