System Solution Architect â€" C++ / Dot NET We are looking for top architects to become part of Application Products development team within Unisys. The System Solution Architect will be a proactive, self-starter who can analyze data from many different realms and formulate a cohesive technical roadmap that will guide the development of our portfolio of services across Unisys.
You must have extensive experience in designing and building complex enterprise level software solutions using C++ based technologies. In addition, you must have experience integrating disparate software systems and estimating and proposing large scale computing solutions. You will be capable of assessing client requirements and developing an integrated (technical, business, and service) solution, while leading the development of cost estimates for the solution in the field.
• Required Experience/Qualities/Skills:
o Bachelors/Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience
o Expert level programming skills, including C++, COM, STL, Web services, XML
o Tools and technologies to integrate C++ with Java/.NET based applications
o Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals
o Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
o Experience in conducting presentations to senior management
o Demonstrated expertise in technological area(s) through submission of content for internal or external publications
o Excellent internal and client-facing communications skills
o Strong experience of object oriented concepts, design patterns, and architectural patterns
o Technical depth in a number of areas such as SOA, meta modeling, graphical modeling using UML, deployment technologies, data modeling, networking, security, enterprise application integration, object oriented analysis/design, iterative development and parametric modeling/estimating
o Very good knowledge of C++ Code quality standards and best practices and Strong Review skills
o Ability to provide thought leadership and should be innovative
o Experience with using GitHub
• Desired Experience/Qualities/Skills:
o 2 to 3 years of experience designing and developing custom solutions based on C++/.NET
o Microservices, .NET, WCF, Web API, RESTful Services, MongoDB
o Experience with Security is desirable
o Architecture related certification (TOGAF, SEI, etc.)
o Experience with the Rational Unified Process
o Developer and/or Architect certifications in Java
o Ability to create detailed conceptual, logical and physical architectures
o Well conversant in automation tools and techniques
o Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
o Outstanding English communications skills in formal writing and speaking
o Ability to deal with partners and peers located worldwide
o Other duties as required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Participate in planning of engineering initiatives.
o Drive technical requirements for product and architectural specifications
o Work with product manager to define non-functional requirements.
o Define strategy, frameworks, best practices and patterns for the engineering development team
o Participate in the development of larger modules which may also include requirements analysis, architectural design, or high-level design tasks.
o Work with fellow Architects to understand the architecture concepts and make recommendations for future product architecture.
• Travel: Up to 25%
