Job Description
Job Purpose: The purpose of the job is to design, develop and enhance enterprise applications in Risk Technology primarily using best in class software engineering practices with help of relevant technologies and tools like Java, Spark/MLLib, Python/R/SAS/NLP/Unix. Job Background/context:

This reports to the application development manager globally and the Application development Lead locally
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the development teams in development Center and aligning them to the global teams
- Take ownership of all applications in the sub domain within Risk
- Interacting with Business analysts and NY managers to understand the requirements behind BRDs/FRDs
- Real time knowledge and experience on enterprise system integration.
- Strong Development skills in high level programming language like Java.
- Strong in OO design skills/implementation of design pattern and software engineering best practices like Test Driven development and continuous integration.
- Good understanding and experience with Data structures and Algorithms.
- Experience in large-scale, distributed system design and development with low latency.
- Good understanding of map-reduce paradigm and able to develop Spark applications/ map reduce jobs.
- Hands on experience in using build tools, code review tools, code coverage tools and version control tools.
Identifying the areas where code needs to change for meeting the required functionalities and maintain traceability
- Self-Driven, results-oriented and highly motivated to work with cross-culture teams.

Key Responsibilities:
o Work with the team in development Center and the global teams
o Take ownership of all applications in the sub domain within Risk
o Interacting with Business analysts and NY managers to understand the requirements, and to author BRDs/FRDs
o Complete understanding of application code through code compilation, code walkthrough, execution flow, overall design
o Local compilation, deployment and behaviour/Unit testing
o Identifying the areas where code needs to change for meeting the required functionalities and maintain traceability
o Participate in design review/ code/ project review meetings- local/global
o Hands on Development using required IDE such as Eclipse & related plug ins, SQL client, etc.
o Unit testing, Integration testing, UAT/SIT support
o Code check in, check out, merge, build management as needed
o Reporting to the Retail Analytics managers on project/task progress as needed
o Participate in all project planning, progress & development meetings with the team & global managers
