Title: Lead Software Engineer
Responsibilities: Opera Solutions is looking to hire a dynamic Lead Java Software Engineer to work with a geographically dispersed software development team to develop exciting new analytic products for our Healthcare vertical. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new growth initiative in the Big data and business analytics market. Work with other software developers and business analysts to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain analytic products built on Java, J2EE technologies and applicable frameworks. Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards. Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code. Package and support deployment of releases. Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Perform performance and scalability analysis as needed. Research and evaluate a variety of software products. Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship. Provide Level 3 support to business users. Concisely communicate with team and client, write design documents and test plan, implement and test code.
Desired Skills and Experience: 7+ years of experience in software development. 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership position. High proficiency in web development using Java, J2EE, SOAP/REST, Web services, Spring, Hibernate, JSON, SQL, Unix/Linux. High Proficiency in writing SQL queries. Hands-on experience on Hadoop technologies (Map reduce Framework, HDFS, Hive, Pig, Sqoop). Good knowledge on build tools preferably Maven/Ant. Exposure to scripting languages (Python /Jython /shell script etc.). Experience with database and ETL highly desirable. Knowledge of building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Storm or Spark-Streaming is a plus. Exposure to Agile development methodology. Very good object oriented programming, design, and development innovation contributing to overall software standards and company processes. Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment. Have excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership, team handling and client interfacing skills. Strong English written, verbal, and comprehension skills required.
