Are you a Chinese academic who has moved away from China to pursue your career in a western country? Perhaps you're considering returning to China but you're not sure what the options are. Chinese academics contemplating returning to academia in China are often unsure if it is the right move for them.

To find out more about this, jobs.ac.uk recently conducted a focus group with 25 Chinese academics who between them have a wealth of experience, and who are currently working in the UK, to discuss perceptions of returning to pursue their academic career in China. As the result of issues discussed during this focus group, we are hosting a FREE 60-minute live video event via a Hangout on Air called 'Working in China' during

You will learn about:

  • Available funding and how to apply
  • Career options available in China
  • Working conditions in China
  • Research publication expectations
  • Options to lead your own research in China

Meet the panel

Our panel is made up of experienced, passionate, and friendly experts all keen to answer your questions and kick-start a conversation around what China can offer academics.

How do I watch?

Now that the live stream has ended, you can view the video in full on the Resources section of our website.
