Total Experience -10 to 15 years
Skill Set/Experience
Proficiency in Analysis, Design and Implementation of Database Architecture, including Expertise in Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modeling.
Deep Database design, implementation, operation, and optimization knowledge in one or more of the following: Oracle, IBM DB2, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostGresQL -- with Expert status and credentials in all flavors of Oracle database (8.x, 9i, 9iRAC, 10g, 11g).
Implementation and strong performance tuning experience in associated SQL programming languages - e.g., Oracle PL/SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, or MS SQL - and stored procedure development.
Experience in Data Migration related projects/tools across all databases
Experience in working with Data Modeling tools like ERWin, SQL Developer , Toad etc.
Experience in database extraction, transformation and loading and ETL integration issues.
Experience writing detailed architectural and infrastructure documentation (architectural & infrastructure documentation covering the Analysis, Design and Implementation).
Expertise in generating DDL from the Physical data model, defining database columns and rows using the DDL from the Physical data model.
Knowledge of architectural platform constraints on database performance.
Knowledge of server technologies and system requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge regarding a wide range of database vendor products and suitability for a particular architecture. Strong management skills in multiple tasks and priorities.
Added Advantage
* Experience in Financial, Insurance and Healthcare domain , CRM/Sales Force
* Experience in NoSQL databases like Cassandra, MongoDB, HBase etc.
* Experience and expertise in Big data platform solutions .
* ETL Tool knowledge: Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB), Informatica, DataMirror, Ab Initio and/or Ascential.
* BI Tool knowledge: Crystal, Business Objects, Microstrategy, Cognos and/or Oracle Discoverer.
* Experience with RFP/RFI responses, proposal writing, costing, budget & estimations
* Experience in MDM Tools/Technologies
Roles & Responsibilities
* Hands-on Oracle database design experience. Must be able to model, code and troubleshoot without any issues
* Good client interaction, communication, presentation (power point) skills
* A Good team Player
* Must be driven/creative to seek out information from vendors and other sources (web, blogs, forums) to drive answers
* Comfortable working with multiple IT vendors with major focus on delivery
* Strong technical troubleshooting skills
* Must be able to work with Solution Architects, Information Architects and other Architects and senior management in the organization
* Will largely be gathering requirements and defining interfaces/ migration activities
* Will work closely with the users, systems designers and the developers on a Project team
* Be able to design and develop Databases, Data Warehouses and Multidimensional Databases
* Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
* May lead and direct the work of others
* A wide degree of creativity and lateral thinking is expected
* Organize and conduct user acceptance tests
* Typically reports to a project manager of telecom group
