Position - Senior Technology Architect/Technology Architect
Skills - Java/J2ee/Ruby with Android/iOS
Ÿ Bachelor/Master's degree or higher in computer science or electrical engineering; other discipline and significant relevant experience.
Ÿ Deep understanding of the mathematical underpinnings of information retrieval
Ÿ Hands on development experience with a high profile, large scale distributed index and search systems
Ÿ Hands-on development experience with multiple technologies such as Ruby and/or Java
Ÿ Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, Ajax, JSON, HTML, and CSS
Ÿ Proficient with the use of RESTful services
Ÿ Experience with mobile application development environments including iOS, Android
Ÿ Advanced understanding of search algorithms, data structures, performance optimization strategies and best practices
Ÿ Proficient in object oriented design principles and automated testing strategies for web applications
Ÿ Knowledge of agile software development process
Ÿ Experiences of code refactoring, design patterns, design driven development,continuous integration, building highly scalable applications, application security
Ÿ Ability to lead distributed development teams
Ÿ Ability to be an early thought partner with business sponsors to assess the technical feasibility of developing solutions around a conceptual idea
Ÿ Ability to work with multiple teams to provide technical guidance and oversight
Ÿ Strong analytical and problem solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions

· The Senior Software Architect has a real passion for software development with a data driven engineering mindset. A well qualified candidate will have contributed to open source projects, have participated in technical communities, interest groups or have written or spoken in public about their technical ideas.
· Despite having, a Senior Software Architect at McKinsey will still be an active learner: tinkering with new open source libraries, using unfamiliar technologies without a lot of supervision and learning new programming languages in their spare time, etc.
· The Senior Software Architect would have an excellent knowledge and experience with developing application for Web and Mobile devices (iOS and Android), extensive experience with search technologies. Set direction; define design and architecture for Mobile app development; coach and guide development teams to build capability for mobile app development. He/ She should be passionate about good engineering practices such as Test Driven Development, simple code, automated testing and deployments, continuous integration etc. At the same time, a successful candidate will not only be a good learner, but a good teacher. He/ She should inspire their peers and more junior team members to learn and expand their skill set, guiding them in the right direction.
· Finally, a Senior Software Architect at McKinsey will have good communication skills and be able to explain complex technical issues in plain English to a variety of stakeholders in the larger organization.
