These candidates will possess a strong background in understanding business requirements, designing technical specifications and developing data extraction/load programs The position is part of the Solutions Integration practice which focuses on the integration of information, process and people through the application of multiple technologies. Our unique approach to delivering Enterprise Decision Management (EDM) solutions through the combined use of creative business strategies, innovative technologies, and advanced intelligence backbones offers our consultants the opportunity to transform business applications for our clients. The candidate is expected to handle small to medium scale consulting projects and should possess skills in the design, development, integration, and deployment of data extraction/load programs. Previous experience within Financial Services is preferred. To be considered, a candidate must be available for traveling (10-15% or more) and posses the required skills as mentioned below. The position will be based in the FICO office located in Bangalore, India. Position description - Consultant II Role/responsibilities - * Interact with onsite / client team member to understand project requirements and goals. * Design end-to-end ETL architecture * Design Source to Target data mappings from hosts to target data feeds * Design and develop detailed business and technical specifications * Design and develop ETL programs to extract, transform and load data to target database * Design, develop and assist in implementing system and unit test programs ensuring correct application of transformation logic from source to target. * Design and develop schedule programs to run on periodic basis. * Perform data conversion, quality and integrity checks for all programs/processes * Report progress status to team manager and/or client for various projects. In addition to these skills, the individual need to be skilled in business analysis and knowledge acquisition. An integration consultant interacts with clients (both business and technical personnel) on a constant basis. Hence, it is necessary that an Integration Consultant have extremely good communication skills, should be able to listen carefully to clients and facilitate information gathering sessions.   Skills/Experience requirements * Minimum 6 year of IT industry experience * Minimum 5 year experience in writing PL/SQL procedures * Minimum 5 year experience in writing SQL queries on Oracle 10G or later version * Minimum 3 year experience in writing shell scripts on UNIX AIX * Minimum 2 year experience on any ETL tool i.e. Ab-initio, Informatica, ODT etc. * Minimum 2 year experience in scheduling ETL jobs / scripts using Crontab * Ability to perform data research and root cause analysis on data issues/discrepancies. * Strong knowledge of DWH/BI concepts i.e. Facts, Dimensions, Star schema, Snowflake schema, data mart etc. * Strong knowledge in understanding various Schema designs * Excellent communication skills including verbal and writing skills * Demonstrated success in leading and training more junior level employees * Experience in either the Financial and Pharmaceuticals Industry is preferred Desirables * Good understanding of software development processes.
