Notes from Conversation with Hiring Manager, August 20, 2009
1. This is for the Mail front-end team. This position works on improving the performance of the Web front end for Web Mail.
2. They are looking for someone experienced in writing Web applications in AJAX. They are not interested in static web pages, but instead something that looks like a desktop application using Web technologies.
3. They*re very interested in people who have experience improving front-end Web mail applications.
4. The Primary language is JavaScript. In some cases, PHP will be primary. Both are solid requirements. They also want to see CSS development experience. They would also like to see JavaScript profiling and run time analysis of applications.
5. They would also like to see C++ or other OO programming and performance analysis experience.
6. It would be very helpful if you send URLs of your portfolios with your resume.
7. The team is a group of seven senior developers (plus this opening). They like people who enjoys collaborating and working closely with their team mates.
8. Note that there may be times where you will travel to the Bay Area.
