Job Description
This full time position has been created to assist in the analysis, design, coding, testing, and support of Advent's proprietary business applications based upon the Microsoft SharePoint platform. These systems include customer (the company’s Limited Partners) and employee portals. Portal functionality includes global enterprise search, and is available to staff on Windows and iOS devices. Production servers are located both within company data centers and cloud services, and Office 365 solutions are being developed. Additionally, there is a miscellaneous collection of web-based applications developed in the .NET framework and SQL Server.
Qualifications
• B.S. in Computer Science, or BA/BS with 10 plus years application development experience
• Knowledge and experience with the business of Private Equity, as well as global, multicurrency systems
• Excellent understanding of business process
• 7+ years experience with Microsoft’s developer and database products and platforms (SQL Server, SharePoint, Office 365, .NET)
• Experience with delivering mobile apps, especially to the Apple iOS platform
• Strong business analysis skills and ability to gather and document requirements from business users regarding requests for enhancements and reports
• Excellent system and design skills
• Excellent system testing skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to both work independently and in a team
• High level of organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to communicate effectively on both technical and non-technical matters to individuals within all levels of the organization
Primary Responsibilities
• Serve as the analyst, designer, developer, tester, and support lead for the Advent suite of proprietary applications and custom reports
• Act as liaison between the senior business analyst and the technical group to relate specific requirements for changes and enhancements
• Follow change request procedure and facilitate approvals, comments, and other requirements
• Author functional specifications and other documents for all development and reporting, per Advent’s standards
• Assist with the testing of changes, enhancements, patches, and upgrades
• Collaborate with the technical team (both internal and 3rd party), including developers, DBA, and Help Desk, in providing support responses
• Maintain code and documentation libraries
• Mentor other members of the system development team
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure and Production Support teams in implementing and maintaining access controls around the SharePoint-based applications
