Design and implement a scalable retail data model thru proper data normalization, partitioning, query development and testing. * Perform operational DBA tasks such as database creation, backup and recovery, optimization of queries, security/access control, internationalization, scalability, high availability, online diagnoses, production support and other enterprise software issues. * Analyze, solve and correct database performance issues. Design, implement, communicate standardized DBA processes. * Coordinate product upgrades, conversion scripts and data migrations. * Setup and maintain dozens of database servers for optimum performance in multi terabyte environments. * Query optimization including OLTP queries to reporting queries that access billions of data records * Research new technologies including Teradata, MongoDB, PostgresSQL, Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) and Shared-Nothing architecture. Make recommendation on best practices. * Execution of proof-of-concept pilots. Requirement: 8+ years of DBA experience Extensive experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, 2008 or above. Experience with other databases a plus. Experience operating a large scale production database environment. Strong database performance and tuning expertise. Strong SQL development skills (Queries, Triggers, Stored Procedures and Functions) Strong in TSQL Proficient in standard development tools such as source control (preferably TFS), ERD Design Tools, and database deployment tools Experience with cloud environment.
