1. PN SOLUTION TEST ENGINEER
LOCATION: GURGAON, INDIA
JOB DESCRIPTION
CLIENT's Packet products portfolio comprises of a broad family of products for access and aggregation tiers of the network. Typically spanning from the Metro edge to the customer edge, these products provide Carrier Ethernet/MPLS/G.8032/TDM services in mobile backhaul, enterprise and residential domains.
The Packet Software and Access R&D organization is responsible for delivering platform-independent Service Aware Operating System (SAOS), Access products and next-generation virtualized operating system to support Virtualized/SDN/NFV applications.
Responsibilities include:
*Execution of test cases and reporting test results with artifacts using Quality Center (QC)
*Work closely with engineers from embedded software, network management software, and hardware teams to validate cohesive end-to-end solutions
*FS and test plan review: Able to host test plan reviews for assigned features, as well as to contribute to test plan reviews held by other team members. Attend independently and provide comments for the functional requirements and/or those relating to commercial specifications/RFCs for FS reviews
*Develop test cases beyond what is described in FS, including compliancy to commercial specs and RFCs, potential and likely interactions with other features, which may involve complex scenarios and topology
Required Skills
*Position requires proficient troubleshooting and problem solving skills
*Contributes (may take lead role) on a project team of engineers involved in the release and test of software. Quickly comes up to speed in understanding of advanced concepts/methodology and contributes to improving and extending the impact and effectiveness of those concepts or new approaches to the current project.
*Conducts knowledge sharing sessions (Critical): Moderate to complex topics, including smaller protocol or RFC related information, specific functional area presentations or methods of procedures. Topics not product related that may help enhance process or efficiency, such introduction to new tools for testers
Required Experience
*BE / B. Tech. (EE/CS) Degree
*About 6 years of relevant experience in telecommunications and test
*In-depth knowledge of real world network topologies in Carrier/Metro Ethernet Space
*Deep understanding of Ethernet and GMPLS related protocols
*Hands-on experience in at least 2 of the following domains: Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, G.8032, TDM, OSPF
*Experience with Ixia/Spirent traffic generators
*Automation experience in Tcl / Python is desirable
2. TITLE: AUTOMATION ENGINEER SVT/PV
LOCATION: GURGAON, INDIA
JOB DESCRIPTION
CLIENT's Packet products portfolio comprises of a broad family of products for access and aggregation tiers of the network. Typically spanning from the Metro edge to the customer edge, these products provide Carrier Ethernet/MPLS/G.8032/TDM services in mobile backhaul, enterprise and residential domains.
The Packet Software and Access R&D organization is responsible for delivering platform-independent Service Aware Operating System (SAOS), Access products and next-generation virtualized operating system to support Virtualized/SDN/NFV applications.
Responsibilities include:
*Requires continuous research to ensure software features meet identified standards and product functional requirements
*Develop, execute and automate functional test plans to verify product capabilities
*Execution of test cases and reporting test results with artifacts using Quality Center (QC)
*Work closely with engineers across teams to ensure quality for the features
Required Skills
*Position requires proficient troubleshooting and problem solving skills
*Fluent in various scripting languages for test automation (TCL, Python)
*Team oriented; strong inter-personal skills and ability to understand customers' needs, expectations and perspective
*Develop test plan based on FS, requirements and other external materials
*Adaptability: Able to manage feature and schedule churns with minimal guidance
Required Experience
*BE / B. Tech. (EE/CS) Degree
*About 5+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications, test and automation
*Hands-on Experience on at least 1 of the following Networking Protocols: Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, G.8032, Virtualization, TDM, OAM (BFD, CFM, EOAM, AIS)
*Experience with Ixia traffic generators
*Experience on IxNetwork is desirable
*Object-oriented software design experience is desirable.

*Expand existing automation framework to provide additional test capabilities for L2 Carrier Ethernet Switches
Required Skills
*Experience with test automation systems and tools
*Excellent software development skills in Linux environment
*Fluent in various scripting languages for test automation (TCL, Python, Ruby, Perl)
*Object-oriented software design experience
*In-depth knowledge and experience with test automation concepts, practices and procedures
*Expert in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
*Understanding of state of the art validation / QA tools
Required Experience
*Experience with Ixia traffic generators and software test suites
*Knowledge of computer and data communication systems, networking, Ethernet switches, L2/L3 Ethernet protocols and real world topologies.
*Knowledge of underlying web technologies including HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript.
*Experience with SQL databases
*Solid understanding of customer/end user's perspective
