Technical Specialist / Technical Architect:
Role
* Design and build scalable and reliable platforms and solutions to collect and process very large amounts ofdata (structured and unstructured), including streaming real-time data.
* Work closely across an array of various stakeholders in the company and industry(including partners, clients and researchers), balancing business,technology and technological research.
* Responsible for understanding emerging and evolving end user usage models and requirements in the solutions, documenting those usage models and business, technical and user requirements and designing a solutions architecture to meet those requirements and specifying an implementation HW and SW solution stack.
* Work closely with end users and ecosystem partners to deploy those solutions in early adopter production environments.
Skills
* 8+ years of software development experience using Python and multiple computer languages.Experiencebuilding large scale distributed data processing systems/applications.
* Strong foundational knowledge and experience with distributed systems and computing systemsin general. Hands-on engineering skills.
* Experience with large scale Enterprise Databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Teradata).
* Experience with a range of Database and solution architectures.
* Experience with performance fine tuning of the solutions (DBs and the associated applications).
* Be very comfortable with Agile methodologies in order to be able to arrive at difficult engineering decisions quickly.
* Deployment of a large distributed applications.
* Willingness to learn new technologies as appropriately driven by the business.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to lead initiatives and people toward common goals.
* Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering.Masters is preferred.
