Service Engineer – Wintel Environment Support
Allstate's Solutions Engineering and Service Management (SE&SM) Environment team is seeking a Service Engineer to build and maintain IIS .NET specific infrastructure. The IIS/.NET Environment Administrator and Infrastructure Engineer role primarily focuses on the build, configuration, application deployment, environment maintenance, environment monitoring and support for high available Wintel servers. The ideal candidate will have experience in IIS application hosting environments, a solid understanding of Change, Release and Problem Management, strong communication/coordination skills, and be an engaged team member.
Responsibilities:
• Configure and maintain IIS application hosting environments
• Configure SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) remote package hosting
• Provide support and troubleshoot IIS/.NET hosting environments
• Provide input required to produce detailed estimates for medium/complex project initiatives
• Develop presentations on environment management strategies for this infrastructure based on industry best-practices
• Translate conceptual solution architecture into concrete implementation plan devliverables
• Some 3rd shift support required for release management and offshore project coordination
Qualifications:
• 8-10 years' experience as System/Server Engineer, preferably Windows Server 2008 R2
• Demonstrated scripting experience using Powershell 2.0
• Knowledge of IIS 7.x internals
• Deep knowledge of industry's best practices for .NET hosting solutions
• Experience with Load Balancing methodologies
• Firewall and DNS internet hosting concepts/knowledge required
• Experience with .NET 4.5 and the SignalR component a plus
