Skill1 - Test Architecting (L2)
Provides key inputs towards debugging of software products through the use ofsystematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for companyproducts. Develops and provides guidance on the execution of software testplans. Analyses and writes test standards and procedures. Ensures documentationof test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Overseesanalysis of test results to ensure existing functionality and recommendscorrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution ofproblems. Expected to continue to build upon domain knowledge and technical/proprietary skills to reach levels of industry acknowledgement. Works as aguide and independently sets directions for medium sized projects of highcomplexity. Works on problems of highly complex scope, through expert usage ofnon-standard concepts & principles requiring high levels of judgment & interpretation. Determines a course of action, which is then executed byproject teams. Can offer multiple solutions to problems through existing andnew methodologies and then exercises judgment to determine most appropriatesolution. Has sufficient expertise to write and present white papers andarticles in recognized magazines and industry forums. Applies advancedknowledge and experience to the development of new methods, programs andprocedures. The role would offer expertise cutting across units and would maketactical decisions which will have an impact on the business. Manages divergentinterest and perspectives. Advises Sr Management on specialized technicalissues. Conducts, supports and reports research in ones own area of expertise.Is responsible for capability development of the team/ unit.
Skill2 - Telecommunication (L3)
Should have good understanding of one of the telecom domains(Wireless, EMS/NMS, Optical, VNGN, and Data/Access Networks)and the deployment scenarios of the corresponding products.Should be able to analyze requirement and estimate for featuresand list risks.Should have capability to design a functional block/ module.Should have the hands-on knowledge in designing of features.Should be able to translate the telecom standards into implementationand to design the protocols/ functional entities.Should be familiar with test tools and test environment.
Skill3 - System Testing (L4)
Devising Test strategy and preparing test plans. Work with dynamically changinguser interface specifications. Architecting Automation framework. Devisingmechanisms to make automation scripts resilient to change. (easilyconfigurable) Estimate test effort and automation effort. Capture and analyzetest metrics.
Essential Skill(s)
Skill1 - Datacom (L2)
Should have very good understanding of various processes related to testing.Should have good knowledge and expertise in various Layer2 and Layer3 networking protocols.Should be able to understand requirements and come up with test cases for L2/L3 protocols testing.Should have extensive debugging skills.
Skill2 - Test Automation (L2)
Should be able to differentiate the various test automation frameworks in themarket and their applicability to the AUT.Should understand the service offerings from Automationpractice and leverage on the same, if required.Should have awareness on the various testing toolstools related certifications available in the market to improvethe competency.Should be able to work on QTP and understands the overviewon QTP as test automation tool - features, performance and usage.
