What are we looking for?
Overall Experience
The fast growing MNC team is looking for a highly motivated Oracle DB expert who is an SME on Oracle DB development in delivery business critical applications.
What will you be expected to do?
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
* Liaises with management in matters relating of databases used by the group
* Oversees administration of all database used to ensure smooth operations and uptime
* Establishes and administers appropriate procedures to ensure all licenses and maintenance contracts and configuration documents for database systems managed by GDS are kept up to date. Will work with License management specialist on the same
* Monitors and advises re Database resource utilization to ensure appropriate system and application performance.
* Perform code reviews, review technical design and provide suggestions for optimization
* Analyze DB design and provides suggestions for schema optimization with respect to business functionality supported
* Creating Complex and high performance stored procedures to meet business demands using triggers, procedure, functions and packages
* Performance tuning of complex applications using hints, parallelism, explain plan, auto trace
* Participate in key architectural and engineering decisions as they relate to the Oracle database development
What technical skills are you expected to have?
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with 8-10 years of overall experience
* Hands-on database technologist with both system and application database administration experience
* Oracle DBA experience on a UNIX platform (primarily AIX and Solaris a plus) including installing/configuring/patching Oracle database software on AIX/UNIX platform
* Experience in the database development lifecycle
* Experience in design, development and support of large Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence related database applications
* Knowledge in database programming including stored procedure and trigger development
* Strong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries to improve performance
* Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with onshore and offshore teams skills
* Other RDBMS engines such as DB2 and MS SQL is a big plus
* DataStage ETL development and administration
* UNIX and shell scripting skills
* Experience in a programming language is a plus 3 of 3
* Proven experience of writing and reviewing technical high level and detailed design specifications
* Hands on experience with infrastructure design, build, installation, configuration and support
