Dear Job Aspirant,
We are currently looking for MS SQL Server DBA for one of our esteemed client.
**ON PAYROLLS OF MAGNA INFOTECH DEPLOYED AT CLIENT LOCATION**
Total experience of 12 to 15 years
JOB Descriptions:
- Database Software Installation and Upgrades
oIdentify server hardware, software and configurations necessary for running MS SQL 2005, 2008, and 2012 in an optimal fashion.
oUtilize and refine existing process descriptions for database software installation and configuration
oDevelop new processes, leveraging new technology, to streamline the process of building new database servers
Database Requirements Analysis and Design
oEnforcement of database standards
oWork with application development teams to design, and review designs for new databases, or changes to existing databases
oAssess and identify database server resource requirements based on new application and customer requirements
oDevelop and maintain data models for databases supported by the MS SQL DBA team
o Periodically assess and refine database standards based on new technologies and business direction
Database Monitoring and Tuning
oMay lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring of database availability and performance
oReview performance stats and recommend changes for tuning database, server, and storage configurations, as well as application sq
Database Backup and Recovery
oParticipate in backup audits, ensuring all databases and associated logs are being backed-up
oPeriodically conduct test database restores to validate backup integrity and refresh skills
oGather requirements and make recommendations for application backup and recovery
oImplement new backup and recovery processes that leverages new techniques and technology
Database Problem Research and Resolution
oAssume ownership of database related problems; pursuing short and long-term problem resolution and root cause analysis
oWork with vendors and internal support representatives to gather information, determine and implement resolutions
oCoordinate interaction with vendors in critical database problem situations
Database Support
Participate in a 24X7 pager rotation Other
