JD for SCM position.
The Senior Configuration Engineer will be Reporting to the Configuration Lead for the Application Development Group, the Configuration Engineer will be responsible for source control, build, release and supporting all software configuration related tasks to support the enterprise wide applications. Working closely with the Development and Project Fulfillment teams, the Configuration Engineer will manage source controls, develop standards and guidelines and maintain development, test, integration and pre-production environment.
Mandatory Skills / Requirement:
* Perform ongoing operations for software development functions including software version control, build, packaging, deployment and verification
* Works with development and QA to compile, build and deploy, using Microsoft platform tools and application.
* Maintain, enhance and define new build systems and automated build processes
* Ensures proper archiving and version control of product releases
* Oversee branching and merging of the code base
* Lead the planning and implementation of changes to the engineering infrastructure relating to CM
* Develop/Coding operational processes such as build tools using VB, C# etc
* Serves as an advocate CM and SDLC best practices and procedures
* Researches and improves methods of production and processes based on industry standards
* Source Control experience in VSS and TFS.
* Ability to mentor and train staff.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Basic SQL writing experience in SQL Server 2000/2005.
* IIS Administration and troubleshooting
* Basic Database administration.
* Familiar with Packaging tools like Install shield.
* Should be familiar with VSTS.
* Well-versed in Build/Release management.
* Basic understanding of Network Administration.
* System Development Life Cycle familiarity.
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
* Excellent skills in build and release management in multiple server environment.
* Ready to work on new Tools and Technologies related to SCM
* Batch scripting knowledge is an added advantage
* Knowledge on SharePoint is must.
* Knowledge in review Config files and source code, identify build errors and notifies appropriate team.
* Knowledge in XML should be essential.
* .Net / VB scripting knowledge is an added advantage
* Working with onshore and offshore team experience is an added advantage.
* Proficient with build utilities like MSBuild, NANT etc
* Willing to work on weekend deployments.
* Exposure to newer SCM tools like Microsoft System Center(Mainly Orchestrator feature).
* Knowledge in cold Fusion, IIS, Apache, Scripting, .Net, SQL DB custom scripts, Web Trends, Interwoven Teamsite, Interwoven OpenDeploy, Google appliances, Flash server and Ektron is an added advantage.
Look for 4 to 8years of Experience.
