Roles & Responsibilities
This position is for a Senior Development Engineer (SSE) for the McAfee Consumer Platform Architecture team. The SSE will be responsible for design, development and maintenance of various projects executed by the consumer platform team on the consumer e-Commerce system and various internal systems and back-end processes including cloud applications. Candidate should have excellent technical skills. Candidate should have experience in building highly scalable and performing systems that serve a large user base. Candidate should have ability and confidence to work independently without asking much help on technical solutions.
Desired Qualification & Experience
* Bachelor Degree in Computer science
* Over 5+ years of experience
Primary Requirements
* Highly proficient in Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE, server applications) on Linux
* Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft .Net 4.x: C#, XML
* Sound knowledge of SQL & No-SQL databases
* Open to work on J2EE as well as .NET technologies
* Experience in analyzing requirements, able to understand impact on existing systems and come up with an all-encompassing solution, independently.
* Candidate must have the passion to work with demanding architects on complex systems
* Candidate must have good written and verbal communications skills and must be a strong team player.
* Candidate must have a good understanding of coding best practices and standards
* Candidate must be able to clearly document, user stories/use cases, functional specification and design
Secondary Requirements
* Experience in conducting code reviews and help improve quality through early detection
* Agile model (Scrum) understanding & experience
* Ability to work independently with a team of engineers locally and peer teams abroad with minimum guidance.
* Out of box thinking
Nice to have skills
* Knowledge of JSP/ASP.NET & web technologies.
* Good at SQL optimization for high volume databases
* Exposure to Map Reduce, Hbase etc. cloud technologies
