Strategic Progress
Work within the strategic architecture of the Fusion Platform: Reviewing that architecture and making suggestions for improvements as requirements emerge.
Business Delivery and Financial Performance
Deliver code that meets functional requirements within agreed timelines and adhering to stipulated software standards
Deliver architectural & functional improvements that will have a positive impact to our Technology estate & business
Ensure the documentation of detailed business requirements and technical specifications in relation to delivered solutions
Provide as appropriate a 3rd line support capability and within that a timely resolution and or escalation of production problems.
Efficiency and Cost Management: Demonstrate a disciplined approach to cost management and operational excellence in all areas of work. Push back and query business requirements to ensure best value for money delivered.
Support continuous delivery of Fusion Platform through the Software Delivery Lifecycle: As required, define functional requirements, input to high level design of solution, specify technical solution and configure or write software. Define and execute unit tests and construct software, perform integration and regression testing. Plan deployment and execute post deployment checks.
Meet and improve technical engineering standards: Be aware of and follow development best practices.
Technical Capabilities - What are the specific skills, knowledge and abilities required for the role?

Desirable
Excellent analytical and programming skills with minimum 5-8 years of experience
Experience and sound knowledge of n-tier architectures, service oriented and distributed architectures
Experience of source control, defect management and build tools - preferably with Subversion, maven
Experience and interest with Agile and Test Driven Development methodologies
Good general awareness of Information Security policies and Technology Risk Management from an enterprise / banking systems context
Specific skills essential for the role: Expert level Java , Open source , OO design , OS
Good knowledge of abstract data structures and algorithms
Familiarity with multithreading concepts
