Product Division:
The mobile games division of Apostek develops and publishes casual mobile games for the iOS and Android Smartphone platforms. Started in September 2009,the division boasts a portfolio of 20+ games, with Slot Machine+ and Pocket Bingo Pro breaking the top 5 category ranking in more than 50 countries.
We are looking to make the next big leap in the mobile/smart phone games ecosystem with a host of critically acclaimed games across a mix of genres from
cards & casino to casual & arcade.
Role: Android Lead/ Technical Lead
Job Description
This person will be responsible for engineering and developing compelling mobile games and applications for Android devices. He/she will work closely with the Project Managers/Solutions Architects and designers to conceptualize and create interactive mobile applications in a fast paced startup environment. He or she should be proficient in techniques and technologies for creating high performance interactive mobile games/applications for the Android platform.
Responsibilities
* Architect, design and develop high quality mobile games and applications for Android mobile platforms preferably using multi-platform game engines/techniques
* Act as a change driver in the product engineering team - design efficient, adaptable, and reusable code.
* Drive overall product architecture and best practices across multiple products working with small efficient teams to achieve business objectives
* Tune components for high performance and scalability using techniques such as caching, code optimization, and efficient memory management.
* Organize inputs and feedback from multiple stakeholders to improve usability and functionality across multiple products.
Skills & Qualifications
* BTech(CS) degree with 7+ years of software product development experience with 2+ years developing cutting edge mobile Android games/applications.
* Accomplished hands on programmer with strong trouble shooting and debugging skills including use of profilers and debuggers.
* Expert level with Eclipse, Make Files, Android SDK and emulators
* Strong experience in code/memory code optimization
* Strong Android SDK experience - UI/Layouts, Threading, Animation, Client Server communication, SQL Lite/Persistence etc
* Hands on experience on make file systems
* Deep knowledge and hands on practical experience with Mobile best practices and device compatibilty for Android
* Experience building at least 3 medium/large products from scratch + Full product lifecycle with at least 1 as Project Lead/Architect.
* Experience with gaming/high performance apps is a big plus
* Experience of NDK/ JNI, cross platform engines like cocos 2D, cocos 2DX, Lib gdx is a big plus
* Experience in Java, J2EE, web programming using HTML, CSS and JavaScript and knowledge of Web services is a big plus.
* Working knowledge of one or more RDBMS. SQLite knowledge is a big plus.
* Experience with XML/JSON and data manipulation/extraction using parsers.
* Ability to work independently in a fast paced startup environment with dynamically changing requirements.
