Our client is a reputed multinational company with headquarters in Boston Skill : NAS( Network attached storage) Experience : 3 to 8 years Location: Bangalore Basic Function of the Job: The Storage Engineer performs projects involving the maintenance, and implementation of Network Attached Storage technology. This position is responsible for evaluating requests for NAS and planning fulfillment while adhering to corporate security standards as well as standards established by the storage group. The person in this position will ensure the standards for NAS configuration and monitoring are implemented consistently throughout the NAS environment. This position will be responsible for the daily monitoring of the NAS environment and any required problem response. Work Performed: * Participates in the deployment, development, and expansion of all NAS related technologies. * Coordinates departmental activities to ensure effective deployment of technologies. * Serves as technical resource for departmental and company wide IT storage solutions. * Identifies potential problem areas and develops solutions. * Proactively monitor storage hardware and address any issues that arise. * Coordinates assigned service requests to meet requesting department dates within established department standards. * Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with end users, vendors and managers. * Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: * Minimum 3 years of experience with enterprise scale Network Attached Storage and related software. * Demonstrated understanding of Windows and Linux concepts and principles. * Ability to provide technical direction to less experienced team members. * Must possess the ability to quickly master new concepts and products. * Ability to document standards and procedures related to all aspects of provisioning and operating Network Attached Storage. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to consult with management, business partners and vendors. * Demonstrated capacity for organization, prioritization and management in a dynamic environment. * Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems. * Must have experience managing IBM N Series or NetApp network attached storage running Data On Tap version 7.3 or newer. * Must have experience with OnCommand aka Operations Manager filer management software. Highly Desirable Experience: * Familiarity with providing filer storage via iSCSI and FC protocols. * Experience with IBM STN-6XXX in-line compression formally known as Storwize compression appliances highly desirable.
