Informatica Architect
The Informatica Architect will deliver Data Integration services to an assigned client who has engaged our consulting services. Working in collaboration with senior members of the client’s organization and members of the engagement team, you will bring in a high degree of broad expertise in information technology and credibility to each engagement. You will also be responsible for providing Data Integration services by being a trusted advisor to clients while delivering innovative solutions to complex problems.
Position Activities and Tasks
• Developing and maintaining strong client relations with senior and C-level executivesâ€"developing new insights into the client’s business model, pain points and delivering actionable, high-impact results
• Participating and leading client engagement in developing plans and strategies of data management processes and IT programs for the clients, providing hands on assistance in data modeling, technical implementation of vendor products and practices
• Facilitating, guiding and influencing the clients and teams towards right information technology architecture and becoming interface between Business, Tech leadership and the Delivery teams
• Leading and mentoring other IT consultants within the practice and across business units
• Supporting business development and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction during delivery
• Contributing to the thought capital through the creation of executive presentations, architecture documents, and IT position papers

• Specify solutions and articulate value to customers
• Deliver project plans and Manage project delivery
• Provide best practice advice to customers and team members
• Knowledge of Big Data features and Plug-ins

• Should be able to mentor other team members on Informatica
• Ability to produce high quality work products under pressure and within deadlines
• To coordinate with developers / other architects / other stakeholders
Mandatory Functional Skills
• Knowledge of any two of BFS/Insurance/CPG/Retail will be appreciated
• Participate in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of the data warehousing project; project planning, business requirement analysis, data analysis, logical and physical database design, setting up the warehouse physical schema and architecture, developing reports, security and deploying to end users
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred (BE/B.Tech)
• Master's degree in a related field preferred (ME/M.Tech, MS, MCA)
Professional Experience Required
• 12 or more years of demonstrated hands-on experience in creating technical specifications, application development, testing, tuning, and support of Informatica based Data Warehouses
• Experienced in working in development, maintenance & production support projects
• Experienced in creating reusable components, automations and error handling strategies
• Hands on experience with Informatica products and solutions with in-depth understanding of the Informatica product suite and latest offerings
• Expert knowledge of XML based data integration using Informatica and other ETL tools
• Working knowledge of Informatica setup, configuration and infrastructure/sizing needs
• Extensive experience with relational databases (ORACLE, DB2). Experience with non-relational databases is a strong plus
• Extensive Knowledge on the Information Management Landscape, tools, technologies and Information Management Frameworks
• Must have been through several full life cycle Data Warehousing implementations and involved in scalability and performance related design aspects in Database, ETL and Reporting
• Good knowledge of Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, Windows etc.)
• Must have experience in designing and architecting solutions for green field projects
• Product Benchmark, Solution, Hardware Sizing, Estimation and overall Presales overlapping experience of at least 2 years
• Active involvement in Thought Leadership â€" Developed Best Practices, Written White Papers and/or POVs, Built Industry and Cross Industry Solutions on Informatica
• Experience with supporting pre-sales, leading solution design and proposal presentations
• Good Client facing skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Should be results oriented, self-motivated, accountable and work under minimal supervision
• A wide degree of creativity and lateral thinking is expected
• Good understanding of Kimball / Inmon methodologies
Professional Experience Preferred
• Prior knowledge in MDM/DQ tools is an advantage
• Prior Knowledge in ETL tools like SSIS, ODI, BODI and DataStage is an advantage
• Prior Knowledge in BI tools like Cognos, SSAS/SSRS, OBIEE and MicroStrategy is an advantage
• Prior Knowledge in connectivity with ERP like SAP & Oracle ERP is an advantage
• Prior Knowledge in real time datawarehouse is an advantage
• Prior knowledge and experience in appliances like Netezza and Exadata is an advantage
Technical Skills Required
• Excel, Microsoft Office, Visio
• Platform - SQL, UNIX Shell Script
