Knowledge and Skills Requirements
1. Ability to write code on the Java stack.
2. Extensive experience with Eclipse IDE
3. Demonstrated experience designing/architecting applications with web technologies in a JEE environment, including Servlets, JSP, Java/JEE, HTTP, HTML, XML, SQL, JDBC/Hibernate and application servers.
4. Demonstrated experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and advanced UI design, AngularJS, BootStrap, or similar
5. Demonstrated experience with ORMs,DI frameworks, messaging platforms like MQ.
6. Demonstrated experience with relational databases like SQL Server in database design, security, and maintenance, queries, views and stored procedures
7. Demonstrated experience in industry standard design patterns and practices
8. Ability to write unit tests and evaluate code coverage of said tests
9. Complete understanding and demonstrated experience applying SOLID principles for object-oriented development
10. Demonstrated experience in UML based modelling
11. Experience using architectural modeling tools and web/load testing tools
12. Ability to conduct static analysis and evaluate code metrics such as cyclomatic complexity
13. Ability to configure and maintain continuous integration (CI) deployment scenarios
14. Familiarity with source control systems like SVN, TFS, or Git
15. Experience in performance engineering and profiling tools
16. Knowledge/experience in cloud based platforms like AWS
17. 5+ years as Technical Architect
18. 10 years writing enterprise software.
19. Go to person for technical solutions and technology issues.
20. Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile development methodologies (Scrum).
21. Strong communication skills with ability to articulate complex scenarios.
22. Fast learner who can come upto speed in vastly changing business environment and carry the team along.
23. Exposure to Retail domain will be a big plus
Role
1. Ability to identify the organizations needs
2. Agreeing plans with the client and carry all stakeholders in the decision making process
3. Apply design principles to build complex software such as framework and interfaces rolling up into point solution or integrate with other point solutions.
4. Breaking down large scale projects into manageable chunks.
5. Create and enforce design, coding standards and engineering best practices using the appropriate tools and methodologies.
6. Understand data model, underlying business and build queries.
5. Provide the technology leadership for the team
a. Drive design discussions to come up with best design
b. Understand patterns and write software to reduce overall development cost
c. Enforce testing frameworks and approaches to get quality on software
d. Balance the "short sighted" vs "over engineering" to come up with right design
e. Eliminate blind spots by having team think thoroughly of the boundary conditions
6. Evaluate complex scenarios and propose technical solutions for recurring patterns.
7. Envision enterprise challenges, system load and apply principles that take care of security, performance, and scalability.
8. Deliver results quickly making right decisions about process and best practices.
9. Manage the development by collaborating with all the stakeholders.
