Job description:
Experience: 8+ years
The Senior Database Developer will be responsible for providing advanced development solutions including but not limited to defining, designing and estimating technical work, completing technical work plans, providing quality technical solutions and ensuring sound deliverables that integrate with other technical resources. The Senior SQL Developer will use current technologies to develop advanced modern, scalable, SQL based solutions serving our projects.
This position will provide assistance in the training, development, and mentoring of other developers and technical staff as required and will work with internal business partners (Project Manager, Business Analyst, Quality control and others as required) to develop valuable technical solutions to business problems and opportunities that are cost effective. This includes the analysis, development, and design of SQL technical solutions. Additional responsibilities will include optimization and performance tuning of all SQL server databases and management of SQL Server Security.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Must have 8+ years of experience with SQL Server 2005 or higher. Experience should also include two of the following: SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
* Refactoring/troubleshooting existing database artifacts as needed
* Strong in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for report generation.
* Good in performance tuning especially tuning complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies.
* Experience in Data Modelling, Database design and well versed with SQL Server best practices.
* Assists with production database issues and help to troubleshoot and isolate issues to
root cause and provide issue resolution by interacting with Developers.
* Experience with Business Intelligence and data warehousing.
* Familiarity with industry standard software development lifecycle and where data design and implementation fit into the process.
* Strong relational database skills
* 1+ years of .NET experience is a plus.
* Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws is a plus.
Desired Skills:
* Expert understanding of n-tier enterprise application and system integrations development using Microsoft SQL Server.
* Sound understanding of the software development (Agile) process, including requirement
gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control,
contemporary testing methodologies.
* Performing adhoc troubleshooting and data correction for end user.
* Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirements.
* Ability to collaborate on a team with infrastructure and business analyst resources and clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.
* Excellent oral communication, documentation and presentation skills
* Self-Starter and Fast learner.
