The Corporate & Investment Banking division is looking for an Application Developer to work with a team of developers on a Java based Web application for Customer Servicing. The developer will report to a tech lead and will be responsible for creating technical design, coding, unit testing, integration testing. Development tasks span entire applications, from server side to web-based user interface development.
As an Application Developer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. You will utilize agile programming methodology and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
You will participate in Iteration planning meetings with scrum masters, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues in QA / UAT / Perf/ Prod. You would also support the production rollout and Production Support team for production issues.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Hands on work experience of 7+ years in software development
* Very strong experience in Spring 3, Spring MVC, Hibernate
* Very strong experience in UI using JQuery, JSON and javascript
* Experience in writing Web services especially writing client using CXF/Axis
* Experience in working in Agile methodology and Continuous Integration
* Exposure to Tomcat and Maven
* Very strong experience in Java design, coding, testing and debugging techniques
* Very strong experience in enterprise level J2EE platforms using J2EE design patterns
* Good SQL knowledge
* Strong debugging and technical troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge of writing Unit test cases and carrying out Unit testing using JUnit
* Knowledge of release management version and revision control practices and procedures
* Proficient knowledge of Agile development life cycle
* Experience with a relational database
* Version control software exposure preferably SVN
* Continuous Integration
* Knowledge of job schedulers such as Quartz, Control-M, etc
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects concurrently
* A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making
* Experience in financial services industry and familiarity with various asset classes would be nice to have
